hybridathlete.guide
Masthead

A reference work, not a content site.

hybridathlete.guide exists because the vocabulary of hybrid sport got ahead of its documentation. Terms like concurrent training, lactate threshold and HYROX eligibility are used daily by people who disagree about what they mean. This is the attempt to fix that.

What this site is

Four things, and deliberately not a fifth. A glossary of the movements, sport formats and physiology terms that hybrid athletes actually use. Athlete profiles reported from results and interviews. A competition board covering the formats worth knowing. And long-form essays arguing about identity, method and the state of the scene.

What it is not: a shop. Nothing here is for sale and no definition is influenced by a commercial relationship. If you want to buy a training plan, that lives on the sister site, hybridtraining.guide, and the separation is the point.

Who publishes it

Editor: Thomas Prommer. Published from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, as part of a three-site group that splits one subject three ways rather than duplicating it:

  • hybridathlete.guide: the reference work. Learn the language, follow the scene.
  • hybridtraining.guide: the commercial platform. Plans, calculators, coaches, gyms, gear.
  • findmynextrace.com: the neutral race calendar across endurance disciplines.

Each site owns one job. A definition belongs here, a purchase belongs there, a race date belongs on the calendar. When a page here sends you to a sister site it is because that site is the right place for the next step, not because the click is worth something.

Editorial standards

Definitions are sourced to primary rulebooks where one exists, and to peer-reviewed literature where the claim is physiological. Where the field genuinely disagrees, the entry says so rather than picking a side and hiding the argument.

Athlete profiles are reported from public results and published interviews. We do not run press releases as reporting and we do not accept payment for inclusion in the glossary, the athlete roster or the competition board.

Corrections are made in place and dated, not silently. If you find something wrong, the fastest route is [email protected]: send the URL and what it should say.
