HYROX eligibility

Also: Who can do HYROX, HYROX requirements, HYROX entry standards
HYROX has no qualification requirement. Anyone over 16 can register for an Open division event: there is no time standard, prior event requirement, or fitness assessment to enter. This is the deliberate beginner-accessibility design that separates HYROX from CrossFit Games, Spartan Pro, or Ironman Kona qualifying.
Divisions by entry barrier
- Open: anyone 16+. Standard loads. Roughly 95% of total field.
- Doubles / Mixed Doubles: same standards, two athletes alternating. Easier on bad days; you have a teammate.
- Relay (4 athletes): most beginner-friendly. Each athlete runs 2 km and does 2 stations.
- Pro: anyone can register, but pro loads (e.g. 250m sled push at 152kg men / 102kg women) make this division punishing without dedicated strength preparation.
- Pro Series: invite-only based on prior race times. Genuine elite tier.
How fit is "fit enough" for Open?
A common rough threshold for Open finishers: can run 5 km comfortably + can do 50 wall balls in a row + can deadlift bodyweight. If all three are true, you'll finish under cutoff (typically 90 minutes). If you also train 4–6 months consistently, sub-90 is very achievable.
